I wish I knew. I'm not sure why it is off display. For years it hung at the top of the stair case in the Salisbury wing, which seems fitting in a way, but they had it so high up that it was impossible to see once you actually climbed the stairs. In 2016, it was featured in an exhibit. Afterwards it was moved to the room with the other Florentine paintings.
I am so enjoying these meditations. This is one I have never seen. Beautiful.
Thank you, Amelia.
I'm so glad you have been enjoying them 😊
Just beautiful, I love Mary’s delicate crown, the Queen of Heaven 😇🙏🙏
Yes, that and her veil really are exquisite details!
Very nice, thank you. I have just read it in preparation for heading off to church soon!
Incidentally, you don't happen to know when the painting will be back on display? I'll be in London next spring and would look for it in the NG.

Too bad. Thank you.
Oddly, a look at their website appears to indicate that none of their works by him are on display.
I love this meditation. You put together so many beautiful thoughts in your meditation on Botticini’s Assumption .
This is a minor point, but I had no idea Adam and Eve were saints.
Yes, traditionally their feast is celebrated on December 24th!
Amen. Thank you
