A beautiful piece of artistry to speak on.

I do agree that modern peoples portray history as dark and dismal (this beautifully bright and colourful scene would say otherwise ) and the people of the day as little more than dolts. Walking through majestic and incredible Basilicas in Europe are a feast for the eye. One ancient church dedicated to the Holy Mother in Rome has incredible mosaics in gold from the 5th century, a testament to the fact that Man has always loved colour and beauty, and was capable of it.

As an anecdote, modern engineers wanted to see how an ancient Roman bridge was constructed without the use of nails…how did the archways miraculously float? They dismantled the bridge, learned nothing about its construction, gave up on how to reconstruct it and put it back together using modern screws and wiring to keep it together. Who were the dolts? Unfortunately, we have lost much from the Masters of the past.

We were incredibly blessed to run across the cathedral, dedicated to Saint Andrew in Amalfi on our travels. I can never resist entering a cathedral on my travels and stumbled across this incredible find, only to learn that the Saint’s relics are contained within it (except his head, which is still in Patras). The depiction of his death is behind the altar, the saint impaled on an X cross. That’s when I realized the significance to the name given to the cross on the Scottish flag.

Saint Andrew the Apostle, please pray for us .

Wow! How wonderful to stumble on the bones of such a great saint.

It is incredible how many beautiful marvels you can encounter in a single block when in Europe. And to think, the faith inspired such marvels.

Oh, what was sacrificed with the invention of the printing press. And now with this year's AI explosion we are witnessing the demise of true artistry. How can it ever recover?

The big museums will not show them, but there are some incredible artists out there. I have really enjoyed liturgical arts journal’s before/after articles on beautiful church renovations from recent years.

We have to champion the good, real artists because AI certainly does threaten their work. I am actually working on piece now highlighting some contemporary artists.

Amelia, I look at you and Robert and Hilary White as the vanguard of the next generation of artists. I tried with Blogger. I have one hope, that a 'Covenant Awareness Banner' might be raised as a rally flag for the faithful remnant. An image search on the three words will show how it was created back before 2008, a short 3 minute video.

Hilary really is an incredible artist. I’m not really an artist myself, but I hope I can help people to appreciate beautiful art.

I remember seeing the hospital in Siena and the beautiful medieval frescos there. Although I am thankful for modern medicine, wouldn’t it be wonderful to see magnificent artwork when recovering?
